Our daughter came to visit!!!   But, before we get to that, we have a couple of things that happened at the beginning of the week. We took a picture of the hay at the forest being cut.  We don't know if the ground is leased or if farmers own property in the forest, but it is fun to watch the things that happen there.  Also, Brent came home from one of the walks that he takes around the city with this sad picture of the river that flows through the middle of Arad.  It is so sad that the trash you see alongside the water is not uncommon.  Such a beautiful country should be better cared for.  Ok, now for Jennifer's visit.  We met her at the Timisoara airport on Thursday, evening.  She boarded a plane in Bozeman on Wednesday morning and headed to Seattle.  From Seattle, she went to Chicago and then flew through the night to London.  (She would have loved to spend some time in London, but it was not possible this trip.)  In London, she changed planes again and landed

Zone Conference happens once per transfer.  It is a time for the Mission President, his wife, and assistants to help the missionaries to refocus their missionary efforts.  This week we were able to enjoy the spiritual uplift of Zone Conference.  The Arad Sisters and Elders hosted the Elders and Sisters from Sibiu as they were traveling to the conference.  Among other things, a huge game of double "Bang" broke out.  The cards are all written in Romanian, so Elder Andersen has a struggle knowing which cards to play.  It also was Sister Alger's birthday.  At Sister Alger's request, Elder Wagner used his culinary expertise to create a delicious potato cake. Yummy! Left to right: Sister Alger, Elder Wilstead, Elder Gore, Elder Paul Left to right:  Elder Andersen, (not shown Sister Folsom, Sister Sterrett), Sister Castaneda, Sister Alger, Elder Wilstead. Tuesday we all went to Timisoara for the conference meetings.  Elder Ennis and Elder Custer were the hosts

We had such a fun surprise in our mailbox on Monday this week.  We receive about two pieces of mail per month.  One of them is a bill for our internet service and sometimes we will get an advertisement of some kind.  When I looked in the box and saw a note in there I was excited to see what it would be.  I was not let down.  The piece of paper in the box was a notice to come to the "posta" for pickup of a package.  Hmmm... what could it be?  This will be an adventure.  Brent has been to the post office to pick up a package once before.  It was a nightmare.  He waited in a line for 2 hours to talk to people who don't like their jobs or speak English.  We strategized about what would be the best way to tackle this job.  We checked the hours the posta is open and decided it would be best to arrive there right after lunch - 12:30.  The posta building is a national monument.  It is very old.  This picture is just inside the front door.  We don't go into either of these doo
