Adunare in the Hungary/România Mission

At Selgros, the store where we prefer to shop, we bought a package of 20 eggs.  Of the 20 eggs only three were NOT double yolks.  It was a party every time we broke an egg open.  The Elders paid us a surprise visit and I was making a treat to take to the Branch dinner. Elder Wilstead had never seen a double yolk egg, so I gave him the honor of breaking the egg.  Sure enough, it was another double yolk.  Romanians call the yolk -  gălbenuș de ou. Galben means the color yellow. The Arad Branch met on Tuesday evening for our Christmas activity.  We purchased groceries on Monday and had them in the church ready to go.  Brother Beanantean and his wife came on Tuesday morning to begin the making of the traditional Christmas Sarmale.  Cabbage leaves wrapped around ground pork and rice.   We ended up with two large pots full of traditional Romanian cabbage rolls and they even made some stuffed with mushrooms for our vegetarian, Brother Moldovan. Image from google images Ummmm. . . yes, hand kissing still happens here.  I know because one of our English students, an 80-year-old Romanian gentleman, who says he is too old to learn English, but speaks it very well, has kissed my hand twice.  Both times I had extended my hand for a handshake and welcome greeting. The first time it happened I was shocked beyond words.  The second time I was shocked again, but not quite as much.  Looking on wikipedia I learned that hand kissing is a gesture of courtesy, politeness, respect, admiration, or even devotion. Hmmm....not sure what to think . . .  no words. Like a scene from a movie.  We attended Zone Conference in Oradea this week.  We met in the little branch building which is near the Centre of the town.  We were well taught by President Hettinger from 1 Nephi 17 comparing their circumstance to our mission.  The water represented a barrier for them to pass through in order to reach the promised land.  They had to build a s
