27 November 2017 - Week 34
Following our walk, we drove to Timisoara to visit the dentist. Brent was scheduled to have impressions and preparation for his new tooth. It has been 8 months since he broke a tooth eating a piece of sausage at a branch picnic. He will be happy to have that space in his mouth filled again.
While we were in Timisoara, we visited the apartment where the 4 Elders who are assigned there live. They said they were getting along fine and things were in pretty good shape. They do have one ongoing problem that we want to solve. It is that several electrical plugs are hanging out of the wall and after many repairs continue to be a problem. Brent is wondering about using epoxy on them.
On Tuesday we visited the Elder's apartment in Arad and also the sister's apartment. I often pick up my phone and find that it has new photos on it, that I did not take. Kids, always up to monkey business.
Elder Smith on left, Elder Andersen on the right. I must have had a weird setting on my phone camera that made the broken plate and black pixels. |
Again, my camera took some weird image of Elder Smith, but you can see Elder Bontempo and Elder Innis and Sora Folsom. |
Elder Smith, a bit of Sora Folsom, Sora Castaneda, Elder Giron, and Elder Gore. |
Elder Giron, Elder Gore, Elder Wilstead, and Elder Andersen |
Elder Wilstead trying to finish off the pecan pie. Eating right out of the bowl! |
Gooooofballs! |
It was an exciting week for our neighborhood. A Carrefour market opened on the bottom floor of the building we live in. We had a little market already, but this is a franchise bigger scale market with lots of things the other market did not offer, like a deli, fresh meat, etc. They handed out balloons and cake to the customers the first couple of days they were open. We are happy to have a great market like this so close to us.
Yet another example of Romanian transportation ingenuity. A whole bale of straw on a bicycle. We have seen lots of things being transported by bike that we would never see in the states.
Drum bun . . . until next time.
