21 May 2018 - Week 59

More walking in the woods this week.  There is still a lot of lumber being removed.  We talked to a man at the Park museum who told us that after a big wind storm last year, it was decided that the trees need to be cleared to keep from having them fall down and cause a problem after a storm.

This is the sister's investigator, Gabriel.  He lives outside Arad in the countryside.  His home is on an approximately 3-acre piece of land at the bottom of a hill covered with grape vineyards. He works in France and has been meeting with the sisters there, but now he is at his home in Arad, so the sisters have been teaching him.  His cute little mother has come from France to live with him.  This day she made us some fried zucchini and the neighbor sent over a bread called Placinta. It was like a large scone. The Romanians almost always offer us drinks - apa (water) or cola (coke) or fanta (like orange soda).

The roses are blooming all around.  I have captured a few photos of them.

Along with the pictures of roses, I have been trying to the perfect poppy picture.  Poppies grow along many of the roadsides here.

I also have been trying to get photos of some of the cute little Romanian bunica (grandmother).  I got one this week as we were driving to Vladimerescu to visit a member.
